I ran across this article from Reuters on Yahoo! News that is of special interest to me. Apparently, Obama is still struggling to quit smoking, but he does promise to not smoke in the White House.Former First Lady Hillary Clinton had established the rule of No Smoking in the White House.

I quit smoking almost 2 years ago, and while it was a hard thing to do, it was not as hard as I had always thought it would be. My previous half-hearted attempts included nicotine gums, reduction techniques, and devices that altered the filters on the cigarettes. I'd quit for awhile, and then go right back. In hindsight, my heart wasn't really into it, I wasn't strongly motivated to quit. When I decided I really wanted to quit, I picked up a great book by Allen Carr titled The Easy Way to Stop Smoking. No tricks, no gimmicks, just wise words and harnessing the power of the human mind.

It seems that Obama's nasty habit is something well known. Somehow, I had never come across this bit of information. Now that I know, I find endless references to it when I search. One thing I cannot seem to find is pictures of Obama smoking. Everything I happen across is a poor Photoshop job, like the one above. Here is a copy of the source image:
