2008 - Year In Review

Here we are, December 31st 2008, last day of the year. Time to reflect on where we have been, and where we are going.

A major event for us this year was the birth of our daughter, our very first child. As first-time parents, we had and still have a lot to learn. It has also eclipsed just about every other event of the year. While parenting has been trying at times, on the whole it has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and we look forward to what is to come in the new year.

Another major event for 2008 was the tumble of the financial markets, thanks to the housing bubble and sub-prime lending fiasco. While times are tight, we are above water, if even just barely. Many many others are not so lucky. We hope for a slow and steady turnaround, because as we know, slow and steady wins the race.

Also, change is on the way. And by that, we mean Barack Obama was elected to be our next President. A historic moment, to be sure. We all have great hopes for change. But again, we must remember that for the true and long lasting reform we need, slow and steady wins the race.
